About the illustration:
I have been meaning to do a Porsche 911 for a while, and as you all know, I’m a huge fan of detail shots.
I am used to working on photographic reference (both mine and from others), but recently I have been more and more incorporating video games photography as my reference. This lets me overcome two things: I get to choose the actual reference and composition of what I envision, and I also get to shoot a car that I would probably never be able to (at least in this conditions), in real life.
As usual, I have worked with Forza Horizon 4 in my Xbox One S, and leveraging the Super 7 feature that lets you choose car and time of day, I went out and got the reference shot (and some others) you can see down below).
I tried to give this a bit of a “comic” feel, with the thick black lines in some places, but overall ended doing that lightly. I might do another take on this one by going all in on the comic look, though! Stay tuned. I hope you like this as much as I do!
Made in Affinity Designer, as usual. The novelty on this one was using Sav Scatola’s amazing detail vector brushes. They are very hard to use, but I believe I managed to add some flair to the otherwise more flat artwork.
