Hyrule 35th Anniversary
About the illustration:
35 years ago today, The Legend of Zelda was released in Japan for the Nintendo Entertainment System. A lot of games have been released since then in this series, gathering a worldwide legion of fans. I’m one of them, but not since long ago.
In 2017, Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch system, and with it, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Even though I’ve known the series for a while and played some of the games for a brief while, I literally fell in love with the world and the series with Breath of the Wild’s version of Hyrule.
If you played the game, I hope you’ll recognize the feeling I try to make you re-live with this piece: the moment out of the Shrine of Resurrection when you catch a glimpse of the immensity of this new Hyrule. The moment I fell in love with this game before even knowing it.
This illustration is very important to me, because it’s the first time I’m brave enough to get out of my comfort zone and illustrate something that’s not car related, as I’ve been doing for the last couple of years. I know it’s not the best, or the most beautiful Zelda-themed illustration on the Internet, but it’s mine and I’m super happy with that.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did illustrating it!
